Aleksandr Reks

Aleksandr Reks, Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics, Professor of UNESCO Chair «Energy Conservation and Renewable Energies», Head of research laboratory «Thermo Mechanics of Magnetic Fluids».

Prof. Reks graduated from the Department of Physics at the Belarusian State Universityin 1974. From 1975 to 1981, he worked at the Institute of Heatand Mass Transfer of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences. Since 1981, he has worked at the Belarusian National Technical University.

Defended his candidate thesis «The shapes and the stability of bounded volumes of magnetic fluid with a free surface» in 1986, and doctoral thesis «Mechanics of magnetic field controlling magnetic fluid systems with a free surface» in 2007. He has held the academic status of Associated Professor.

Fields of scientific activity include: thermo physics, mechanics of fluids, thermo mechanics of magnetic fluids, and control of energy transfer processes by means of magnetic fields. Manages of student scientific activity.

Has 160 scientific publications, including 11 patents, 2 monographs, one of which is published in the USA.

The Secretary of the Council on defense of Ph.D. and Doctor Theses on specialty «Mechanics of Fluids, Gas, and Plasma».

Invited researcher in ENSAM (Paris,France) and University Paris-7 (France) in 1992.

Teaches courses in «Machines of Energy Transformation», «Pumps and Expanders», «Energy Conservation».
